Safety measures for red light therapy.
Red light is a non-invasive therapy method that uses specific wavelengths of red light to promote cell regeneration and repair, especially in post-exercise recovery. However, to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the therapy, here are some important safety measures:
Consult a professional:
Before starting any red light therapy, you should consult a doctor or professional, especially if you have underlying well conditions or are pregnant
Use protective eyewear:
Although red light therapy is less harmful than UV rays, prolonged exposure to bright light can still cause eye strain. Therefore, the use of protective eyewear designed specifically for red light therapy is necessary.
Follow manufacturer guidelines:
Each red light therapy device has specific instructions on when to use it and how far away from the light source it is. Following these guidelines will help prevent overexposure and ensure effectiveness.
Perform a patch test:
Before a full course of therapy, perform a patch test on a small area of skin to check for any adverse reactions.
Limit session length:
Typically sessions last 10 to 20 minutes. Longer exposure does not necessarily mean better results and may increase the risk of side effects.
Note the contraindications:
Red light therapy should be avoided in cases of high fever, bleeding tendency, active pulmonary tuberculosis, severe heart and kidney disease, localized malignant tumors, female pelvic areas during pregnancy, menstrual period, bleeding and coagulation diseases, etc.
Avoid direct exposure to eyes:
During red light therapy, the light source should be avoided from direct exposure to the eyes to prevent possible damage.
Pay attention to skin reactions:
Pay attention to skin allergies or abnormal reactions after therapy. If necessary, stop therapy in time and consult a doctor.
Regular check-ups:
Especially if you are using red light therapy for a long time, regular skin exams.
